The UK Telecommunication industry has been growing quite steadily over the past few years. The industry was able to generate revenue of £61.5bn in 2007 which was an impressive increase by 8% (ONS, 2007).This makes the Telecommunication Industry as one of the biggest industries in UK. Mobile phone based revenue was the biggest source. Upon an industry analysis of all mobile telecommunication companies as well as fixed line providers it would be interesting to compare the shares of the major telecommunication companies. While BT has been slowly on the decline in the face of increasing mobile consumption with a drop by 14 percent from 2002-2007, it has allowed for the telecommunication industry players to slowly grow in its business volume and share. The five major network operators in United Kingdom are as follows:-
• Orange
• Vodafone
• T-Mobile
• O2
• 3
• Virgin
